Inside the STEM Discovery Center
An Interactive Experience for all Ages
The STEM Discovery Center will integrate Science, Technology, Engineering and Math concepts throughout the exhibits. Simulators will encourage visitors to apply their gained knowledge in an operational setting. Group education will be supplied through interactive classroom activities and museum field trips.
Visitors to the STEM Discovery Center can also expect to gain in-depth knowledge on such topics as:

Weather
Nautical Science
Maneuvering Boards/Relative Motion and Physics
Buoyancy and Stability
Survival at Sea (Health Science)
Aviation Principles
K-12 Education
The Museum will partner with K-12 school districts to provide expert STEM programming that integrates best practices and Coast Guard-specific real world examples. During the summer months, the Museum will work with day camps to ensure that STEM discover continues outside of school time. More than 15,000 participants are expected annually at the STEM Discovery Center.
LIfetime of Learning
The Museum will present a continuum of learning experiences that increase in complexity and provide opportunities for students to improve knowledge and understanding of concepts. The Center will also highlight the USCG and industry partners’ innovations and technologies that will inspire curiosity, and encourage visitors to think about solutions for the challenges and problems facing our world
